how to rebuild?
hi, guys so far i owned 4 FDs (i love this car)!!! but i want to get into it more than just driving. the performance of the car and how it work just amaze me. i would like to know where i can get help on rebuilding the engine (this is going to be my first time). i know it's gonna cost me $$$ and times, but i guess it's also my passion to learn about this car. so any ideas or anything that would help, will be appreciated. for example a video, book, site, tools, and etc. on how to rebuild. even a shop that willing to teach, and of course i will pay for their times. thanks in advance guys.....

Well, for the basics on rotary disassembly and reassembly, Atkin's Rotary has a rebuild DVD for like $25. There is also a DVD called DIY 13B-RE, or something like that, that's a bit more pricey and is said to be really good, they are also coming out with a porting DVD that's going to be good aswell. The best advice I can give you is to go find some thrasher motor plus the Atkins' DVD and tear it apart. Really the only special tools you'll need would be a engine stand adapter and a pilot bearing puller, sme people need a dowel pin puller but the passenger side motor mount has 3 bolts that acttach through the oil pan, this how an FC is anyways, those bolts have the same diameter and thread pitch as the inside of the dowel pins, so I just screw it in and pull it out. Read the Haynes guide to your car or even the FSM are good too.
