how do i know if my secondaries are opening?

i was board the other day, so i started playing with my carb. its the stock nikki 4bbl so, i was just opening the primarys and they work just fine, and then i opened the secondaries, it scared the crap out of me cause it was so loud. but i know they work just fine too. but i opened the primaries and secondaries at the same time and i have never heard my car rev up so fast. so i had my friend floor it to watch the secondaries to see if they open but they dont.

so the question is, do you have to be moving at all to see if they open? oh can you test it while its parked. or is there an easy way to dissable them to see if any performance change happens?

thanks
steven

Secondarys are vacuum operated, they only open under load.
