How to buy a RX-7
My friend on I are looking into getting an rx-7. There's a 89 rx-7 turbo II for sale. We are new to the rotary stuff. I was just wonder if you guys/gurls have any tips to look for when looking at the rx-7.
That's good--any specific buying guides for 3rd gen, though? I'm getting a '93 touring edition this Tuesday. 112,000 miles, engine rebuilt 30K ago and turbos rebuilt 400 miles ago. $13K. It looks good on the outside--I don't know what to look for on the inside. Hope it holds together for at least five years.

Im also looking at a 93 twin turbo rx-7 and was wondering if the info given on the web site posted would also be good for a 3rd generation. Also im a little curious to see what a resonable price would be for the car if it had 32000 miles on it, and says it was garage kept, and owned by a 60 year old man who says its never had any maintainace done other than scheduled oil changes and inspections. It is also completely stock. Im a little nervous with the rep that these cars have for blowing engines and being all around unreliable. Looking for some assurance here because i love the cars. Thanks guys.
Personally I'd be looking to spend around 15 unless maybe it was an R1 or a CYM R1, in which case you can expect to pay a little more. You really need to have the thing compression checked though to be sure all is well, if it passes that I'd get a downpipe and radiator immediately, and get an AST. You should also do the other reliability mods, you can find them in various FAQs and over at www.scuderiaciriani.com.
