History of a rotary

Just a link to the history of the wankel. The info here is as close as to complete as I could find. Don't think it is helpful, but it is very interesting info on our love hate relationship of the rotary engine.http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mazda-...5356305?v=info

Most of this info is just plagiarized from Mazda's own site: http://www.mazda.com/mazdaspirit/rot...ory/index.html. Hurray for copy/paste?

My uncle worked for Curtis-Wright, who held the U.S. rights to the Wankel. He was a machinest and was involved in development of the rotary here in the U.S. I remember him talking about seal problems and how this was a primary focus of their work. I had no idea that 30+ years later I would be racing one! It makes me wish I had discussed his work in a lot more depth.
