Help, window won't go up

My passenger side window won't go up sometimes. I noticed that if I pull on the glass a little, the window will then go up and work fine. It goes down fine.

It's now working fine, after pulling on the glass a little. But, I would like to know if there is anything I can do so I don't end up replacing the whole power window mechanism later on. Is there something that I can lubricate?

Interesting thing is that when the window wouldn't roll up, the driver-side window switch will roll up the window just fine. I am confused as to whether the passgener side switch is going bad or if it's the window mechanism.

TIA!

When the window is stuck, do you still hear the motors trying to turn when you press the switch or is it all quiet?? If it's quiet, it could mean that the motor can't draw enough current - which could be due to a dirty/broken/worn switch - that is, if the current flows through the switch (I'm don't know how these window motors are wired).

Part of the problem could be that the window isn't sliding properly - theres a lot of resistance. If the motor can't draw the current to overcome this resistance, it won't turn.

I suggest trying to clean the switch first if it's possible. Opening the door panel, lubricating the sliding posts might also help.

Does the window only get stuck in the wide open position??

Could be the window accuator or switch but if you want to lubricate the mechanism and its paths use white lithium grease, although not sure what you meant by it works with driverside switch maybe theres a problem with your window lock switch ?

When the window is stuck, there is no sound that I can hear. However, I was on the hiway so that doesn't say much. The window works fine now so I can't try it. It got stuck when it was half way or all the way down.

The window lock switch was off when the passenger switch failed to roll the window up. I was able to roll up the window using the driver side switch. It's probably the switch but the whole problem disappeared when I pulled on the window a little.

I think I'll squirt some wd 40 on the switch and around the window frame. Hopefully, this will prevent any mishaps. Thanks guys!

my window lock switch broke in the "lock" position... it would physically flip, but the passenger window frobby wouldn't do anything.. I just shorted it with a piece of wire--now it's broke in the "on" position.. lol

My pass. window get stuck going up.. but it's just the track. If i pull up on the rear of the window, it helps a LOT.
