Help with timming on 3rd Gen for Haltech ASAP!!
I have a 3rd Gen with single Turbo (TS04) MSD egnition on the leading, 850cc prim. 1600 Sec. Street ported motor, Haltech computer, and set to boost about 20 PSI. Engine has Low compression rotors with 3mm apex seals. NOW here is what i need to know. im going to the dyno tommorow and need to see who can help me by telling me what the correct timming should be on IDLE, then into transition and Most important under full boost and load at top end. any feedback by tommorow morning will be greatly appriciated.

PS!! If there is anyone that is willing to Send me thier current curve for starters that would really help alot and save a fellow rx7 owner some money on the dyno time.

Try the engine management forum for Haltech related questions. This is for general rotary questions and the people who come here may not have as much expirience with stand alone systems.

i couldn't tell you how much timing to use for that much boost, but mine is about 18 degrees total advance with 12psi, so it would be safe to assume less than that...
maybe start at 5 degrees and run the knock sensor on a lab scope, and just add from there. if the dyno shop knows anything about anything, they should have a labscope available...
base timing @ idle is 5 degrees after according to the factory, but the haltech won't let you turn it down that far. 0 degrees should almost make the car idle ok, but if you want the timing to actually be correct, you have to cheat with the crank sensor.
