Thumbs down Help please ASAP

I know this isn't RX-7 related and it will probably be moved but I need as many people to see this as possible. Besides my 88 Rex I have a 97 B2300 SE. I just got it a few weeks ago for way less than I was expecting. It runs perfect and looks great, but today I popped the hood after comming home to see if I could reset the "Door Ajar" light (It won't stay off) by pulling the fuse and I saw a large 'splatter' of some red liquid all over the drivers side of the engine bay. I can't see where it is comming from, and I'm not sure what it is. The power steering fluid is red, but the lid was on good. I even started the engine and nothing happened. Does anybody know what other red liquids are around that area (inbetween the battery, power steering motor, and the brake master cylinder)? Thanks in advance.

Could be transmission fluid..maybe even brake fluid just check everything. My Red Line MTL is red, and I think all auto trans fluid is red. I've never seen brake fluid red though...maybe? Good luck.

It could be power-steering fluid as the fluid is under an incredibly high amount of pressure. It could also be auto-tranny fluid (if the truck is auto that is) coming out of the tranny cooler by the radiator.

yeah, like Zach said power steering fluid is the first thing that came to mind. Another possibility is engine coolant, although, I doubt it, some engine anti-freeze is redish-orange in color. If its splattered over the hood in dried up spots, it might be engine coolant. Pop the radiator and see what color you coolant is.

Damn that is one nice car next to Zachs. Whos car could that be? He must be a pimp and a half to sport a ride like that!

Thanks guys. It was the power steering fluid, but everything is fine. Well except for all the electrical problems. The door ajar light doesn't always shut off when the door is closed and the truck is on. If it does stay on it will however shut off a few minutes down the road. This wouldn't bother me if it didn't keep those darn courtesy lights on. I probably look like a dumbass riding down the road with my inside lights on. What's worse is that the other day my windshield wipers and windshield washers just decided to come on while I was riding down the road for like ten seconds. That was pretty wierd. My temperature guage doesn't read anythinf and my gas guage never drops to empty when the truck is shut off. It actually slowly goes up. wtf? Oh well, I got this guys number from the closest mazda dealership. I guess I'll let him have a look at it. But if anybody knows what might be wrong I would greatly appreciate it if you told me. Thanks again.
