Smile HELP Please 13B DEAD or hopefully just sleeping!

Hi there.
I am a newbie to all this and would appreciate any help
Took my 1992 RX-7 series 6 to the track on the weekend.
Before I went to the track I heard a sound like a minor exhaust leak but thought nothing much of it.
It’s a 13B single turbo and was down on torque and power until about 5500 revs and then came on VERY strong.
Unusual as it normally has plenty down low
After 4 laps (on a small track) it lost power from 4000 revs and made a “phut phut phut” noise but was Ok once it got to about 6000 then was VERY powerful.
We fitted new plugs and the front bottom plug was oily.
Took her out again and it completely failed after 1 lap.
It will not start and it spins like it has no compression.
Any ideas on what it might be?
Thank you.

What did the motor sound like at idle? vacuum reading at idle?

Tracking a car with known problems isn't very smart .

First compression test
Then check for spark and fuel

It sounded different because it needed to idle higher. Instead of 1200rpm it needed 1500. Vacuum unknown.

We let it cool down for 90 minutes and when we started it, it idled better (but not normally)

Not smart I agree especially in hindsight but my engine builder/tuner who had just checked it completely over assured me it was fine.

He is my expert guide in these matters and he had been 100% correct to date

He was uncontactable that day (winning class (easliy) in international 5 day Tarmac rally in his series 8)

He has circuit raced Rotaries for 25 years and my engine is the same spec as the engines he takes to Nurburgring for the 24Hr race.

The car had done a whole season perfectly and the previous race was a 3 hour enduro.

Would appreciate any further comments

Thanks
