help, oil leak in exhaust. no bueno

hey guys i need a little help on diagnosing my problem. i have an 87 T2 with 79k miles on original engine and turbo. when i am cruising around under3k rpms everything is fine, but when i romp it and get on the boost, oil gets into the exaust and burns. it seems like my turbo is leaking the oil, (i think around the o-rings that hold the oil in.) and if i am driving the car around and get on it a few times and come back down to a stop and let the engine idle, white smoke (oil smoke) comes out of the exhaust. could this be a problem with my engine or am i right and is it the old turbo leaking oil into my exhaust? thanks alot guys. -jacob

but i hooked up a boost gauge today and i hit 7 lbs of boost during acceleration. could the oil seals just be bad and the rest of the turbo still handle the press?
