help! no start!!

i have an 83 GSL, and i was doing a drain and fill on the tranny. after i was done i sprayd some degreaser to try and clean off the crude that was built up underneath. after a few moments i went to go start it and it wouldnt start. then about 5 seconds latter, it started up without me having the key in the start posistion. after i turned it off, it wouldnt start. my battery is fine, and i checked the wires. i havent found any thing that was out of the ordinary. i also am not sure on how to get the starter out. i know what bolts to take out, but i dont know how to get the wires off. please, you must help, this was my daily driver--thanx

water and wires don't mix, likely it got into your neutral switch wiring. if you have access to an air supply i would disconnect the wires you sprayed anywhere near and blow them out with compressed air and reconnect them, also blow out and switches or wiring harnesses you may have sprayed with water. if i am correct it should fix the problem. if you don't have compressed air just try to clean them out as best possible with a shop rag, worst case you may have to get some electrical contact cleaner and clean out any grease that may have gotten into any connectors.

edit: well actually worst case would be a faulty neutral switch or starter after a pressure wash...
