garfinkle had one come in after running out of gas to bad they had to pay a tow bill the fix was to jump the fuel pump test plug with a wire untill the fuel pressure filled the system . you can hear it pressurize .Itis a yellow plug on the right side in front of the shock tower .The car started up quickly

since the car is 88, you might want to change the fuel filter also. Sometimes when you run out of gas, the fuel pump start sucking the bottom of the fuel tank. There might be some dirty stuff (such as rust) on the bottome of the tank, and it might clog up the filter and could have a damaging effect to your fuel system.
