help with holley 465 on 12a
looking for some help as i cant find much in a search.
i seems to be having a issue with the engine flooding. now it could be a few things.
i have installed a Holley blue pump and a 4.5-9psi reg non return.for some reason it seems to build pressure initial start at 6psi then gradually to 10 or higher, thought it was air bleed the system still the same.
any ideas on that?
i adjusted the floats so the fuel is barley coming out set the mixure screws 2 turns out. still seems to foul the plugs. this is a rb carb but it may have been messed with.
anyone know what the specs are for a non ported engine.
i pulled the primary jets and they are 50f . the acell nozzle is 28 if u need other info let me know
one thing that led me to pulling it apart and seeking help was i noticed the amount of fuel that comes from pushing the accel pedal is alot and makes me think its flooding the engine
i may have jumped the gun and my engines is just seriously flooded
cheers

makes no sense that the reg is set at 6psi but it gets up to 10 at the carb. i currently run a 6psi pump so no need for a reg. the holley is known to run rich. if with the engine running, it starts overflowing the bowls, maybe u need to get another reg. to run a return, put a "T" in the line after the reg going to the carb. then run a line off the T to the stock return line back to the tank.

today i rigged up a return line with a restrictor my pressure is now consistant and dosnt build pressure. also set the floats checked the timming and set the points this seems to be a losing battle.the can almost started but again my plugs are just getting fouled up. i double checked with holley on the weight and check ball aparently it only came with a needle valve so i shouldnt be missing anything.can some one please help me im going insane and losing faith in the holley..

okay,first...Make sure that the cap and rotor is good(also spark plugs) second... try bringing the primary jet down 1 size smaller,Third make sure the mixture screw are set up the right way.If that doesnt work i guess a new holley for you....They could get a bit tricky...
