Help - Car hesitation
Thanks for reading-
I had a car fire back in Feb with my 93 rx7 touring. (no mods) After 7k and 3 months I finally got my car back. Then 3-4 days later the car began hesitation. For instance the car wouldn't go over 100mph. Also sometimes when you put your foot down on the accelerator, the car would lack any power and take 2-3-4-5 seconds before it would accelerate. It seems to idle ok, although rough idle. But it always idled rough (before the fire).
Can you offer any suggestions on what could be the problem? A local shop had the car for a week or so but couldn't find the problem. Then the dealer had the car and ran a compression test on it. They said the compression was fine. Spark plugs are new so thats not the problem. The dealer said that they'd have to spend many hrs going thru the vacuum lines, exhaust etc just to TRY to identify the problem.
Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I don't know, but it's certainly nothing to do with a 20B engine, so I'm moving this thread to the General Rotary Tech Support forum since I see you have a duplicate post in the 3Gen forum.
It sounds like a vacuum leak to me.* Check all of your vacuum lines and intake parts. Yes, it's going to take a while.
* Evil Aviator is not a mechanic, has never owned a 3Gen RX-7, nor worked on one, so like everything else on the internet, take this diagnosis with a big grain of salt.
