Hello everyone I am currently looking into getting y first rx7 fc3s. I found a guy who wants to trade me for my 240sx. I have a 91 hatch gutted with a welded diff, soie eibach lowering springs and stock motor. The guy has a non turbo 90 fc3s, with little rust which is on the floor which isnt to bad because my friend is a really good welder and small surface on the quaters, but the problem is the car has a bad apex seal and occasionally will flood. Should i do a straight trade with this guy? am i getting a good deal, poor deal, or fair? I am new to rotary motors and rx7s in general and have no clue if the apex seal is really bad and should stop me fro trading or if i should get cash on top, or if the flooding of the motor is a bad thing. I have read that these are problems rx7s do typically get, but i wanted some of you guys advice. Any advice would help and were looking at trading tomorrow so as quick as you can! thank you everybody.

 

a bad apex seal is like having bad rings in a piston engine, so it will get worse and need a rebuild, i would say the trade isnt fair

Yeh I'm not. O found a good one cheap, 5speed. Little to no rust. Good motor. I'm going to look tomorrow and hopefully pic it up soon.
