Help ,acceleration issues...

This car is making me crazy. I have fixed many vacuum/electrical issues, but I am still having the same problem. The car starts and idles great and is not giving me any error codes, but won't rev or accelerate. When I try to rev the engine the check engine light flashes and the car backfires and sputters. I just did a fuel line check -- the shop manual states that the hold pressure needs to be between 71-106 and mine is around 50. Do you think that is a problem? Is it the fuel pump or injector? The shop manual states if the pressure is less than spec to change the fuel pump. The fuel pump is a little expensive, so I thought that I should get a second opinion before I buy one.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
