Haltech'ed J-Spec won't run -- help!

Hey,
I'm trying to get my car started and it ain't a-workin' I just put in a J-Spec motor and Haltech E6K. The car will run briefly with judicious amounts of starter fluid used, but dies rather quickly, so I know it has spark, but I'm not 100% sure about fuel. I do know that the fuel pump goes on when you turn the ignition key to the 'run' position though. The other problem is that the J-Spec seems to have a stuck (fingers crossed) seal on the front rotor, so it is only making one compression pulse. The rear rotor seems to be OK.

Does anybody have any suggestions for how to get this thing to turn over?

Thanks!!!
Manolis

Try the ATF trick first. I bought a Jspec ones and found out that it was blown before i was going to install it. While the engine was out, it would have been a good idea to remove the turbo and exaust manifold and look thru the exaust ports to see if the apex seals are still there. I said partial because you cant see the whole apex seals.
BTW..you mind if i come and check out your ride??

hey!
I looked throught the spark plug holes, and at least the 'middle' section of all 6 apex seals are all there! I'm about to take off the exhaust manifold to look through that, but it looks like all the seals are intact. It'd be cool if you came to check out the car -- shoot me an e-mail (rx7islotsoffun@hotmail.com) or give me a call @ 626-794-2594

Thanks!,
Manolis

hmm the spark pulg holes are way too small to check if your apex seals are intacked.. The exaust ports are still the best place to look besides dismantling the motor. I will give you a call and hopefully i can come and check out your ride.
