Fuel pump pressure

What's the correct pressure for the fuel pump in a 1985 GSL-SE? The mechanic installed a Carter fuel pump that is supposed to be compatible for this car and model (the pump is rated for 31 psi ). But the engine still appears to be fuel starved. Delphi has one that is supposed to be compatible and it is rated at 36 psi. Are there other better options? Thank you.

welcome to the board.

i can't tell you the number offhand, but 31 PSI sounds low though. it should probably be somewhere in the low to mid 40s.

you could probably confirm the number in the FSM. if you don't have one, then you can get a copy at: Foxed.ca

EDIT
here's a thread that might help: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generati...stion-1067727/
