fuel pump power

Hey, I just replaced my stock fuel pump with a walbro 255, thinking that my other one was bad(the old one didn't pump when I turned on the ignition). I checked the fuses and they are all fine, so I replaced the pump(planning on doing it anyway). However, the pump still didn't turn on, so I replaced the relay, still nothing. Right now I have the pump running on a togle switch but would really like to put a halt to that, any suggestions?

I not sure what year your car is but my '85 Gsl-se only sends power to the fuel pump when the engine is in start mode, and continues once the engine is running.

There should be a 'fuel pump safety circuit bypass' connector you can jumper past to verify the rest of the circuit is working correctly. Mine in on the passenger side, next to the air cleaner.

mine is a 1993 fd. When you say "start mode" do you mean when the ignition is on, or when the car is actually turning over? The pump should build up pressure before it is being turned over. Do you know if mine can be jumpered in the same place? Thanks for the reply.
