fuel economy

Hello all I have an 88gxl and I have changed the spark plugs, put a K&N, flushed out the radiator, performed and oil change and im getting pretty crappy gas mileage. This is my first rx7 and it has 140k miles on it. I dont get any smoke from my tailpipes and the car does not burn oil.My question is what is the norm in terms of gas mileage for these cars? I filled up 10 dollars worth yesterday (87octane) and im at a little under a 1/4 tank today. Now I have driven no more than say 35 miles. Is there any way to improve it? Thanks in advance===========Ren. By the way my car is a 5speed if that helps.

Above avg pretty good-Fill it up. Reset trip odometer, drive it, then fill it up again. Check mileage so you can then get an accurate figure. Just in case-Divide mileage by gallons.

Don't stop...

Seriously, "city" driving will reward you with 13mpg - 18mpg averages.&nbsp Going on a long freeway trip with little or no stopping will guarantee you mileage up to 28mpg with a minimum of 20mpg.

I don't think it's the answer you're looking for, so I would recommend a CDI box - MSD 6A or Crane Cams HI-6.&nbsp This will give you a little power (1-3hp across the RPM band), longer spark plug life, and slightly better mileage (1-3 mpg).
