finish machining "RMS" specs

finish machining "RMS" specs
Looking for finish machining specs for the RMS number. Ive been told anything under 40 will be sufficient for the side irons, but that was a facebook comment, and no one else has hD any input. Any engine builders here know what RMS Spec you usually use?
