Feeler gauge fix for oil leak of death

I met a guy who said I could jam a thin feeler gauge in the crack were the oil is leaking out near the distributor and the Mazda imprint on the engine. anyone ever heard of that? Sc

Not possible. Even if that worked in one spot, the oil would migrate elsewhere, and you'd have to seal basically the entire rotor housing to side housing junction.

Ok, feeler gauge not good idea. I give 6 points since it was original.

I have a 2nd idea that I'm working out. I got an adjustable clamp that reaches from the oil pan to the top of the engine. I'm planning to squash some gasket glue and some rubber inner tube on top of the oil leak. The distributor is sort in my way, but it looks like it may work. How's that for smart? SC

Probably easier to pull the engine apart and do it the right way. You know that will actually work, at any rate.
