Hey everyone I've got a 1996 type rs.
Everything is standard apart from exhaust and blow off valve.
The car is very underpowered. When the second turbo kicks in it spikes to 15psi before dropping back to 10 then it will cut/spit. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

 

did you remove the cat? downpipe ? and catback ?

 

You mention exhaust need to be more descriptive? If the cat is removed the stock twin turbo wastegate needs to be ported. The wastegate gate is not able to slow down the turbos with free flowing exhaust. If you port the wastegate it will maintain boost even in transition from primary to secondary. Be careful spikes or boost creeps is what what causes lean conditions and blows motor.

 

The exhaust is a cat back. I got the car like this.

I guess I'll pull the cat out this weekend and see what's going on there.

 

Would that cause it to be underpowered and spit tho?

 

send us or post a video/pictures... We will know whats OEm and what has been added. Just so you know I am running a good tune on my power fc of 14-12-14 on rebuilt turbos with a 3 in downpipe/3 resonated midpipe and OEM muffler an dhave no boost spike or creep.
