FD no crank fix.
I am posting this here since i can't post in the 3rd gen section yet.
Had a FD come in today with several issues. One of them was the no crank CPU2 problem. I jumpered H302 connector and it would crank. I also diconnected CPU2 and it would crank fine.
so i decide to investigate further and opened up CPU2 and immediatly noticed the familiar rotten egg smell.
Did some looking around and found that capacitor 3(c3) had kicked the bucket and spewed its guts all over the place.
C3 is located at the very top right of the board next to the small connector. It is 220uf/16v and black in color.
so i replaced it with a new one and cleaned the board really good to keep the electrlyte from damaging anything else.
Now the car cranks fine with H302 and CPU2 connected.
Just thought someone might find this helpful and save them from having to replace CPU2.
P.S.
That also got rid of the annoying constant beeping.
