87 s4 fc coup

I just got my clutch replaced and now when i go to put my car into first its dosent catch amd wont accelerate i have to put it into second and sometimes it takes a couple tries... diff problem or tranny?

 

Transmission problem.

 

Could it be wear on the clutch plate tho? Once im in 3rd im all good its like its not catching. I really sont want this to be a tranny problem

 

You said that the clutch was replaced. Why would there be wear on the clutch plate?

Are you sure that the clutch system was bled properly?

 

thats what i am checking i noticed a loud thud when i put it into gear. There is an after market short throw shift on it and it almost feels as if its trying to go into 2 gears at once so im tryimg to get a stock shifter back onto the car. Will update monday.
