Exhaust Help!?
Hey this is my first post on this forum but I have a 1979 RX7, it has a Bridgeported 12a, Racing Beat intake, a Holly 650 carburetor, and I think Racing Beat Headers but i'm not sure the brand, definitely not stock though, with straight pipe all the way back, with what looks like someone who owned it before me cut the muffler out and has what looks like a muffler right where the tip is but it could just not be doing anything at all, it doesn't sound like it's doing anything at all, and I don't mind the sound it's got a very distinctive "Brap Brap" bridgeport rotary sound lol but I need some type of exhaust to make it quieter it's louder than my buddy's Chevy 350 motor with no catalytic converter and 1 Muffler instead of 2 that was on it, if that gives you an idea of how loud it is, I like deep rumbling sound you would typically hear in a V8 but I love the rotary sound so i'm looking for my sound to be deeper but much quieter than it is now, can somebody please tell me what I need to make that happen, not looking to spend $1000 on exhaust system at the moment though so if it's not possible than i'll have to deal with it until I can afford it but if anyone can help that would be awesome and greatly appreciated, Thanks.

welcome to the board.
you should be able to get it quieter by adding another quality high flow muffler. how much quieter? i have no clue. the key will be balancing noise suppression and restriction to flow. they don't like the latter very much. i know RB has some universals, but i don't know how restrictive they are. nevertheless, i would start looking there.

Thank's iv'e been looking there but I found this Thrush Welded Muffler from Advanced Auto Parts that was $40, hopefully that will quite it down a bit, the mufflers on Racing Beat were I think $291 so I went with the cheaper one this time, later on i'm sure i'll find a good exhaust system for it though

Racing beat universals are quiet as shut on my turbo. I had 3" straight pipe, welded in rb universal presilencer and and muffler and now it's quiet as ****. I have a video on this page.

Also the muffler and presilencer are just straight through glass packs, but packed with stainless steel mesh instead of glass.
