Im wanting to learn how to streetport an engine. I have a few extra housing in the garage I can use before trying it on my engine. I want to ask the guys that do this all the time what are a few of the tools you use to make your ports? I dont want to spend hundreds of dollards in bits/kits I will never use. I have purchased the medium template from pineapple racing for starters and have watch/read all the "how to's". My engine was built about 2years ago from a local builder and now its time to change out the apex seals and I would like to try it myself this time around. Im sure this has been covered already, but I was having a hard time trying to search this topic. If you have a link to a thread such as what im asking please link it here.

4. Pneumatic grinding tool
5. Safety goggles

well, i'm not home right now and i don't anticipate being there for some months to come. i have all my bookmarked sites from where i buy my stuff on my computer at home. anyway, if you don't mind spending a little extra for stuff you can get cheaper, then just go to Racing Beat's site and they have most of or all that you need.

you already have the major tool, the die grinder on your list. i'd suggest the micro die grinder (pencil grip) and a Dremel as well. for the REAL professionals, they may not be necessary, but for me, they give me the best control for finishing. to be honest, i use a Dremel to do all my intake ports, and the only time i use die grinders is when i do exhaust ports. you just have to get the right bits.

I do have a dremel. I find it to be the most worthless tool in my garage right now. I guess I will have to give it a good dust off once I start building my engine. I saw a thread where a member on here used it to clearance side seals. It seemed to work pretty well and it save him a ton of time.

What die grinding bits should I be stocking up on?
