engine pros I need some help!
Can you please correct me if I have been misinformed as I am rebuilding a 13b for the first time and I am a little confused with the alldata information.
1.Install outer sealing rubber so that white paint faces side wall in groove.
Sealing rubber appears to have white paint on both wider sides and the white face should be contacting the side of the groove (facing the front/rear of the engine) of the housing/plate?
2.Install inner sealing rubber so that blue paint faces outer wall in groove and the seam is properly placed
the blue paint stripe faces to the outside of the block? and the seam is placed on the intake/cool side of the engine
correct?
Hylomar...... is it comparable to the red/blue gel that permatex makes to seal two machined surfaces?
Also what should I use as assembly lube? Should I put anything on the surface of the rotor housing where the apex seals will make contact?

1) white paint goes on the sides (assuming you're looking at the motor from the top). make sure the black part is on the mating surfaces.
2) yea, the seam goes right over the intake port.
hylomar-- $4 at autozone
the side housings (where the seals make contact) like marvel mystery oil , i use some wheel bearing grease or vasaline to hold the rotor seals in place when flipping it over--so they don't fall out, wheel bearing grease or thick oil on the stationaries.
hope that helps
