Engine oil... which one?

Ok, I know this issue has been talked and discussed before already. I did a search but found no thread that was really indicating which oil to use on my FD motor.

Car and engine are 100% stock and I'm only planning to do the necessary "reliability mods" this year.

It's time to replace the engine oil so what do I use best?
Please keep in mind that I'm in Europe and we do not have thesame brands you have.

Possibilities:
Castrol
Mobile
Fina
Total
Shell
...

I know that the car has always been maintenanced by Mazda Belgium with semi-synthetic oil (not the best choice I guess).
As far as I know it needs mineral oil.

PLease give me some advise whtit which I can work.

Thx

we have all ways used Amsoil 10-40 in our cars except the turbo modles then we used the Amsoil turbo formula type. had great success.

I'll go to the shop this week and see what they have around. I'll then come back with the results.

thanks for keeping up with my questions

Additional question talking about engineoil....
I somewhere read here that the brand FRAM (oil filters), which is also available in Europe, offers a big and smaller oil filter which fits in the stock possition.

In this case I think "bigger is better". Anyone has some comments on that?

Small filter part nr. 6607
Big filter part nr. 3593A
