OK I have an 88 Rx-7 convertible that was converted to a 89 turbo II motor. with all the extra goodies including fluidyne radiator and black max electric fan. Also something that may be of note this has third gen rotors and housings. Anyway I have decided for cooling issues surrounding the greddy fmic to go back to the stock fan. After taking apart the shroud and getting rid of the black max fan I started to put the engine driven fan on and have become stuck. the 88 fan does not seem to fit the fan pin coming out of the engine .....Were these fans different and what is the solution. I suppose the easiest would be to get a turbo engine driven fan ?????
any comments would be welcome... I decided to get involved with this on a Saturday afternoon project ......Not smart when you need parts or questions answered ...lol.....HEEELLLLPPPPPPP>>>>......

 

The fan pin ? is that the center part sticking out of the flange / is it to big? drill the hole in the fan hub bigger .

 

by "pin coming out of the engine" you mean that flat thing sticking out of the center of the water pump pulley? You may need to get the same year fan as the year water pump you have. If it is close in size an the fan is too small, you can try using a drill to make the hole bigger.
