Hi all, I think i'm at my wit's end with this thing, my 88 gtu auto-cross car has been cuting out around left hand corners, maybe right too but not as freqently. The first thing I did was check the tank, man it was a mess. droped the tank, put a new pump and sock in there, flushed the tank, made sure everything was clean sturdy ect. So I'm not thinking it's the tank. Also, the problem is very instantanious, I figure if it was durty pump sock it would be more proressive, this is like hitting switch. the engine is running great... then BAM gone, 2-3 seconds later, after the corner it comes back in like it never left.

Is there any electrical things that I might want to check out? It does not seem to smoke or backfire after it comes back in so I'm thinking it's not just that the spark is leaving. Is there a fuel cut/ role-over switch in these cars?

Ummm, did you replace the in-tank fuel filter? Not sure if that's what you mean by sock.

 

yep, thats the sock... there is also the in-line filter. thanks for the reply

 

Yea, RE's are sharp.

 

Same problem in my sister's '91 vert.. haven't found anything yet either.
