eletrical issues

okay so i'm new to working on cars.

heres the issue, the feul pump wasnt working, it sounded like a buzz then it cut off when in the on position, and nothing when the key is turned to start.
so i thought the feul pump was bad so i took it off and to make sure before i spent on a new one i put it on my truck battery and it ran like a dream.
then i noticed that there was a wire running directly from my positive terminal to fuses 8 and 9. when i removed this all the dash went dead as well as the buttons that did work
so knowing that fuse number 10 was the feul pump when i put the wire back on there i stuck it on 8, 9, and 10 and the only thing that changed was that the trunk release button worked.
so i ran to the auto part store thinking all the wired were dead between the battery and fuse box, wrapped it around all 10 fuses and all that did was make everything light up with no key in the car, upside was all the buttons worked.
suggestions?

doesn't sound like anything anyone in paticular can help you with... I would say get yourself a good wiring diagram and start tracing wires
