drill and tap housings for knock?

Friend had a s5f2f, and the engine went bad. The car has sock ecu. Could you drill and tap s4 t2 housings so can retain all his original sensors. Would he be able to run a s4 t2 engine with s5t2 ecu and sensors without knock sensors?

Hi,

Yes you can tap into the housings but why not just use the stock location on the S4 center plate? Also just a heads up the S4 has 1 TPS, where as the S5 runs 2. So if your going to run the S5 engine wire harness, you may want to swap TB & Air flow meter good luck.

the wall is too thin to tap into it, you'd have to weld on new threaded billets or put the sensor in the S4 location on the front of the filler neck in the center iron.

Ok, thanks guys! I'm gong to check my own irons, I'm not sure the exact parts is my rebuilt engine i bought. I searched and never read a good break down on the irons, just the rear iron and rotor housings
