Difficulty shifting

85 GSL-SE - New to Me

When I drive it hard I have difficulty doing a "fast" shift. I often get grinding going into 3rd if I'm not carefull. Occasional happens in 2nd but third really seems to be the culprit. If I drive normally the transmission shifts great and is very smooth. However it does feel like there is some lag time where I'm waiting for it to slide into gear.

Did this before and after refilling the tranny with Castrol 80w-90. Did find some metal grit on the drain plug when I changed the fluid.

Is this a problem with the clutch not totally disengaging or this a synchro problem?

Paperwork show that previous owner had replace clutch, master cyl, and had some unknown tranny work done.

Please help
