Connector under passenger side carpet

Hi all I'm working on removing any unnecessary wiring out of the loom of the car anyway under the passenger side carpet there is a 2 wire connector just bolted into the floor. Any clue what it is?

Can't really find anything searching it. I'm getting things about Porsches and GM so I'm probably not looking the right thing up but not even sure what keyword it would be?

Car is a 93 LHD FD

That one is the USDM "Exhaust Overheat" sensor.

When the floor gets really hot above the cat that "Exhaust Overheat" light may come on.

Thanks! Is there any point in keeping it. As in does it do anything more than power the light? I.e. Changing ECU settings? My car is cat less and I feel the light is always on anyway.
