compression test, motor outside,starter run but the motor not..

hi, i have try many time to test my jspec motor.
i have a booster pack ,battery and booster cable, i put the - on the motor body,
and the + on 1 bolt on the starter.
the result: my starter run, but the flywheel dont.
i have try whit turbo starter, tranny and flywheel and no turbo tranny, starter and flywheel. each time same result, starter run but the motor doesnt.
What i dont do right?
if some one can help me whit that, i will be very very happy .

You need the turbo starter and flywheel, you don't have to have the tranny mounted, but the starter will need to be shimmed without the tranny. Ground to a starter mounting bolt, + to the outboard lug on the starter and a hot wire to the starter solenoid.

Sounds like either the starter gear is not extentending to engage the flywheel, or the starter and flywheel are not lined up.
