compression test

what is the lowest compression can be for a rotary engine to start . i know the min. is 85 psi if its lower can the motor still start .

Generally, you can start on less.

Don't expect any real power though.

Also, make sure you find a Mazda compression checker. I've used piston compression checkers that showed FAR below my actual compression. Other forum members have experienced the same.
