Chevy T56 6-speed mated to a rotary?

I swear I saw a website with a kit they made to install the Chevy T56 6-speed from a Corvette or whatever onto the 13B-REW. Am I just crazy? Does anyone have a link to this site? It's drivin me nuts...I am SO SO close to getting an FD but I may have to suck it up and buy an automatic, and if I do I am gonna convert it to the Chevy 6-speed. That is, if I am not crazy and this kit does exist. Thanks!

why would you have to suck it up and buy an auto? what is your price range? I am sure you would be able to find a manual with in the range you are in. You may save a little off the top but when you do the swap you have to factor in the cost of the conversion wich is going to set you back more then just the cost of the t-56. I just don't think it is cost effective unless it is being done other then reason stated.

Nice. So does anyone know about this website?

Haha...just playin, I am not a jerk like 95% of the people on the internet. The reason I may have to buy an auto is that in the up to 14,000 dollar range, there are like only 4 FDs that fit my criteria-with my criteria being "Completely Stock, in decent shape."-in my "Area", that is, within 500 miles...and three of those are auto. The six-speed swap isn't so much of a price thing as it is a "well, if I am gonna do it anyway..." thing, and also I think, THINK I remember that website saying it was easier to do the swap with the automatic's counterweight.

I believe IronMaiden on here has a T56 behind a healthy 20B setup.

You can install GTO 5th/6th gear cluster inside and have the following gearing:
2.66
1.78
1.30
1.00
.84
.57

Standard LS1 T56 has .75 and .50 5th and 6th gears. Meaning 5th is worthless for staying in the powerband... and 6th is truly a gear made for fuel economy.

Plan on $3K+ for the conversion easy. (Trans/clutch/custom bellhousing adapter plate/hydraulics/driveshaft etc). It won't be cheaper than going with the factory FD 5speed/dshaft/hydraulics.

Alright I will contact that person. Thanks.
And thanks for the info too. Haha, all other things aside, basically when I started thinking about doing the conversion I thought "Hey, six gears is more than five gears...NEAT!"...lol I didn't think to look at ratios and such. Although I had heard that on most 6 speed transmissions the extra gear is not a highway gear but a gear in between a couple others...I thought that a gear between fourth and fifth or maybe even third and fourth could improve turbo spool though, although I don't have any experience driving the FD3S, so I know nothing about its turbo spool. I am used to my 2nd gen Ford Probe GT with the aftermarket, pretty good sized turbo that spools at about 3500...it would LOVE a gear between fourth and fifth.
So yea, thanks.

Just go with a FD3S 5 speed.... or a FC3ST2 5 speed if one fits. With those ratios, it would be realy useless... REALY useless to swap in a GM transmission.
