changing heater coil

anyone change their heater coil here? im doing mine now but its a real pain in the ***. any hints or suggestions? anything i should be aware of?

I replaced one in my first ('86). The whole dash had to come out, took about 8 hours or so, as I was trying real hard not to break any of the plastic trim stuff. I can't think of any shortcuts, sorry.
