Catalytic Converters Price?!?!

I have a '87 Turbo II. I was wondering how much does a new main Catalytic Converter cost? Mine is dislodging particles into my second one, and needs to be replaced. I live in Washington, and asked Hayes Rotary how much one would cost. Though I dont think a new one would be $900 dollars. If anyone can give me a normal price (estimate is fine), would be much appreciated, thanks.

Call a dealer and see , not go on some ones guess . They are very costly . If you want new an aftermarket high flow cat may cost less .

the main converter is the last one going from front to back.

Are you talking about one of the two pre-converters. those are used when engine is cold. the main converter is the one that really counts. Many would say they can be gutted or replaced with a downpipe without much ill effects but you did not hear it from me.

They can be had relatively cheaply at victoriabritish.com if you want them replaced.

if it is the pre-cats just get a downpipe. If it is the main cat you can get a high-flow from summitracing.com for $50-75 and have somebody install it for you.
