repainting engine bay. What paint?

A battery exploded in the engine bay in my 84. I have the motor out now and I want to paint it. I want to paint it flat black.
What paint should I use? I need something that will resist chemicals. I was thinking of using an undercoating or a bed liner paint.

Also what should I do to prep the bay where the battery acid ate the paint?

Thanks,
mIke

We usually paint our race cars with white or something really light and bright, so we can detect leaks very easily.

Hell, if you want to try something new, try those spray on truck bed liners.&nbsp They are supposed to be pretty chemical resistant.&nbsp The epoxy based paints that are good for chemical resistance are expensive!
