Go for it. Just because you have the power doesn't mean you have to use it all the time.

True, but I want to know also if it would kill the engine quicker than it should...

But you are right lol

if your port name has "bridge" in it... its probably not a good daily.. so who cares might as well go full bridge.

I did it with a Carb. But that having been said, you will need a different tune for street use with a quiet (read restrictive) exhaust and the other for open header for track use. Yes it bucks, yes it sucks fuel like I do whiskey but ricers will think twice before getting near you. The police will be on your butt all the time. Make your choice wisely but if you are going to build it then build it completely. Otherwise you will not be happy with the results.

Just my 2 Euro Cents.

Ill tell you what I told someone else, I was full bridge for a while and to tell you the truth its absolutely pointless unless your drag racing the car or want to make a million hp. If you have a bridge just for the sound, well thats the dumbest thing you could possibly do cause i like the sound for about a week, then it just got annoying. Couldnt talk to people in the car/ listen to the radio, and everyone at the stoplights looks at you like your a complete retard.

large or standard streetport ftw if you still want to make a good amount of hp and love driving the car. I'm not one of those guys that complains about how loud the car is cause i run a 4in exhaust with just a 18in resonator, but the bridge was just too ridiculous.

Ok kewl thank you. Well Thank you for the heads up, but I have decided to go Half Bridge. Few people have told me that HB is not as bad.

A HB IS JUST AS BAD AS A FULL! But I drive one every day LOL Here is one I just built 12abp for my friends car and he loves it. The good is Great power But they are hard on the drivetrain. The port is jerky at low rpm. So if you are going to go bridge then go full.

If anything makes by BP REPU hard to drive its the 4 puck clutch. Otherwise its loud and you have to rev it higher to start moving. I cant wait to drive mine again (1-2 more nights of work!)

Going turbo or n/a. I have had both in my supercharged first gen, and love both, they both have their strenghts. A 1/2 bridge with a right turbo and standalone though, ooooooh mercy! The half bridge does maintain quite a bit of streetability. And the sound of a turbo half bridge doesn't get old... http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...hortbridge.flv

i have a half bridge with a gt35rs and 4" exhaust. It is loud. I ended up making a variable exhaust silencer that i could open/close with a manual switch (or boost/tps switch if i ever hook it up). The silencer made it a hell of a lot more tolerable.

if you are going to bridge, just let the nuts hang and do the full bridge. It's going to be loud and have bad gas mileage either way.

Might wanna go ahead and open up a monthly payment to the police fund of your choice, you're gonna need it lol

If your car is built like a drag car they're gonna be all over you even without the noise. But I guess it depends where you're from a bit as well.

Get 2 7's, one for racing, one for street. It'll prob cost you that much in gas anyway with just the bridge.

Everyone says bridgeports are loud, but they don't automatically have to be when in turbo form.

I have a half bridge and a GT4088R. With the proper resonator, thick walled exhaust and good mufflers, my car is a Civic regarding sound below 4000 RPM. With the windows down, one can easily hold a conversation with a passenger at normal voice levels. With the windows up, the car is DEAD SILENT (though I do have Dynamat covering the entire floor) and quite frankly, too quiet when you are on the throttle.

What sucks about daily driving a bridgeport is the city fuel economy. Whatever you do, you will never get it much above 10 MPG. And the ambiguous vacuum signal makes it harder to tune for light load. Fuel injection gets rid of the bucking. While my car idles at 1500 RPM (I will be turning it down to around 1000 RPM soon), I can let off the clutch without giving it more throttle, and then drive around all day in 4th at 2K without issues. The key is a properly tuned EFI system.

Everyone looks at the car due to the idle, and the exhaust note does pound a bit at idle as well.

agreed ... to a certain extent. in addition to finding the right materials for your exhaust system, i think the port (size, timing, etc.) itself will need to be taken into consideration before building the engine.

as far as the "streeting" a bridge is concerned. my opinion has not changed. it's something you'd better be committed to. over the years, i've gone from not even considering it, to thinking i may do it someday to a secondary vehicle. if asked, i still would not recommend it because the ones that usually ask don't truly know what they're getting into.

that said, i think the user mr2foryou (or something to that effect, i think his real name is Dee) had a lovely bridge with a GT40R setup and i'm pretty sure he had to drive it daily for a while. i think he's since sold it though - i may be wrong. so aside from Aaron, there was at least one other GT40-bridgey out there.

I have been running my Full Race Bridge on the street for 2 years, and believe me I have had enough. Its way too loud, and after an hour in the car you want to get out and have a break lol. Its hard to have conversations with people, hard to hear the radio, and the cops seem to attract to you like a magnet. If you have the right resonator it becomes tollerable, but for your HP goals I think a big streetport would be plenty.

Persoanlly I have scrapped the Bridge, and gone with a series 6 with cosmo ports, cosmo upper and lower intake and going with a methanol setup, goal is 600whp on pump and meth.

Its your call......
