Can this housing be saved?

I removed this housing from a engine with a bad coolant seal that has been sitting. I am sure it was overheated. This engine was rebuilt before and when I pulled it apart and started to clean it this is what I found. It looks like it was there with the last rebuild like it fell on a iron and they just installed it like that any way.

I was planning on using some JB weld and fillin in the bridge and sanding it down. Theres a couple pits I will fill at the same time.

I was wondering if anyone else has brought a housing like this back from the dead? It doesnt look that hard and it should work.

hell, i dont see why it wouldnt work, thats not even where it seals, i would say you dont even need to fill it in, but someone else might want to chime in who has a little more experience with that kind of stuff.

It has nothing to do with the sealing surfaces and coolant runs through all the holes, so it's not a big deal.
