Brand new rotor housing... problem?

i just received my two s6 brand new rotor housings...upon inspection i noticed that on the inner surface, where the apex seal passes, there were a lot of shiny metallic specks on the bottom half of the housings..some seem to come off with some water and wiping with a cloth but most remain...it feels rough to the touch...has anyone ever encountered this before?...what should i do?...is it ok to use a scotchbrite pad or something to try to get the specks off?...or would that cause damage to the housings?...

Try some brake cleaner and a paper towel. Were these in the mazda boxes and bagged?

I've received a couple, directly from Mazda, that were defective. So, yes, it's possible to get a bad one.
