Brake switch question

RX7 brake switch, I'm unsure which wires do what? There is 2 sets of wires going to the switch, one thin set and one larger set, could you let me know what ea. does? And also which one is 12v power and which one is ground My car is a 88 gxl non turbo automatic Thx in advance for any and all help Brian

Try here, look under body electrical or wiring diagram, you should be able to trace what wire goes where.

How do you figure the codes for the wiring color out?
Not a very easy task,lol
Is there a list with a decipher?

At the top of the wiring diagram section is a code breakdown. In your example, the Green/White wire powers the switch via the 20 amp stop fuse and the other wire, White/Green takes the voltage from the switch when the brake is depressed and passes it to the bulbs in the rear light housings. To explain it further, G/W means Green wire with a White stripe on it. B is black, L is blue, R for red, G for green, W for white, O for orange, Y for yellow, LG for light green. So, B/W would be a black wire with a white stripe. R/L would be a red wire with a blue stripe. Hope this helps.

It helps alot, thanks will print this out, and save it, I'm sure I will get it if I work in it long enough
I'm so used to American wiring ,a little easier to read, but now I got it
