blown turbo

blown turbo

Ok guys Im pretty sure my turbo is done and i was wondering if i could just take the guts out of the turbo and drive my car just looking for the quick fix with little to no cash right now. I know used s5 turbos are cheap but im that broke and gutting my turbo seems like it would work. any info would be nice, Im looking for cheapest fix i can do and i wouldnt mind runing my car na for a bit also.

specs
1988 turbo II with a s5 jdm swap
motor is all stock just got wires and a filter on it

I hope my initial interpretation of this is incorrect, but are you basically asking if you could remove the wheels and leave the turbo housings in place? i can't think of any scenarios that have a good ending for you or the car.

I can appreciate not having money, but you may really need to consider just parking the thing until you do. I mean, you could get it to run N/A, but by the time you got a manifold or header and had it connected to the rest of your exhaust, then found a way to loop the AFM back into the system, you probably could have just picked up used turbocharger to tide you over.

alright right thanks I thought it was a good idea but if you say its a bad idea then its gonna be parked for a min lol I have 2 new turbos thats huge from stock but i need a few more parts and a computer to run the dam thing I might trade one of them for parts. but thanks for the advice
