big power loss

i have a big power loss whenever i stomp on the gas at 2000-3500 rpms in my 93 Touring through every gear, and i am unsure what it is. when i gradually accelerate it doesnt happen, but when i try to take off in it, it happens. im also only making 6lbs. of boost, and i dont know why. i was told it might be a leak in the intercooler piping, but i dont know if id lose 5lbs. from that. any ideas as to what it might be?

I actually rode in the car with Rick and felt it. I'm not really sure how to describe it except to say that it felt like a REALLY bad case of the 3k rpm hesitation, but it was right around 24-2500 rpm. The car bucked and stuttered, but then after 2500 rpm it was fine again.

I was stumped. Anyone else?
