best way to off set cost of build

would i be better off trying to sell my blown 1993 motor auto tranny ecu and harness togather or part them out to help off set my cost for the swap i would like to do. is there alot of people that like to rebuild them? if i have to part out what parts should sell the fastest? thanks

Depending on the failure, the motor might be worth something, not sure on the rest.

Well, first- do a lot of research about doing an LS swap, its not cheap and selling the motor/trans is not going to offset much of the cost. Also, many times simply replacing or rebuilding the 13B is cheaper than swapping in an LS.
Just things to think about.

Crack it open and part it out. If the housings and rotors are good you will get some fair money out of it. IF the motor spit out a apex seal then at least 50% of it is junk basically.

Didnt see D Walkers post till now......crack it open and rebuild that ****.

OP, have you done a compression test?

for what it's worth:

you won't get a penny for an FD automatic tranny or ECU, it's simply not worth the gas money to go and pick up for most people. they usually find a spot in someone's garage to sit and slowly die.

but i have to say you will need a petrol tanker behind it to keep it going.

Once thing ya learn with v8s get a big block.
if he really had that much money then this thread wouldn't exist.. you're also an idiot for thinking a 7 needs more torque than even a LSx could provide..

I really dont like the per litre arguements, because that only shows you do not know anything about a rotary, or maybe engines much at all. If you want to put an auto LSX into your car thats cool, its your car and you can do what you want with it, at least your starting with an auto RX7.

Please ignore rx7lee. I recommend you do tons more reading before you start posting again. When you do, try using some punctuation. You might not seem like a uneducated 12 year old from Iowa then.

i build rotaries specifically. i commented on your ignorance which you didn't catch.

i guess it's difficult to see the vendor and RE references under my forum name and signature... since you were in such a huff to quickly jump into a rage because a punched/stroked V8 is just stupid for a light RWD street car. hell, you should have told him he needed twin turbos on that V8 as well as slicks, wheelie bar, gutting, fiberglass unibody on tube chassis and skinnies..
