Apex seals

Hello all I own an 88 gxl and i'm wondering, is there any way to tell if an apex seal is blown without doing a compression test. Could a rotary seem to be running fine but have a blown apex seal? My car runs great(knock on wood) Just wondering if there is a quicker (not having to remove the plugs, etc) method of finding out. Thanks in advance------Ren

Nope. If it seems to be running fine the only way to check is with a compression test.
