the car still backfires after i switch gears (after it goes to about 4000 rpm's) and now it idles weird...it'll go to about 1300 and it'll go low 700 rpm's..the warning lights will go on as if it were going to stall but it doesn't stall...after that point-it'll go back up to 1300 of a 1000 rpm's again....what could that be? I'm thinking its the timing belt but, i'm not sure..and how would i go about fixing it without spending a lot of money..?

Its going to be hard trying to adjust a timing belt when we have no cams in are car. Your BAC may be bad or the solenoid below it.

Well..today it did the strangest thing...after it warmed up-instead of going to low rpm's and almost stalling..it stayed at 2500 rpm's..and did NOT move...until i started driving and switching gears then it would go up and down the rpm's like its suposed to...what the <bleep> is that????

Today when i turned the car on at the gas station (after i pumped gas) it went all the way up to about 5-6000 rpms for about 5 min,'s and then it eventually went down to 2500 and it stayed there until i started moving..but, even then it wouldn't go all the way down if i were at a stop light or something..it would go to 25 and stay there....what does that mean?

Today while the car was warming up or even when i have it in neutral...the rpm's were going to 2500 and it felt like i was pressing the gas..but, i wasn't....
what does that mean?
I know what you mean about paranoia...everytime i get in my car i wonder what new noise i'm going to hear..lol
