Air Pump Disconnected Smells Like Crap, idles Funny??(help!!)
i heard that if you disconnect the air pump these problems occur?? are they right???
but the problem is that i just got the freakin car and it turns out the previous owner disconnected the airbox by cutting instead of disconnecting the plugs( dumbass? ) but the wires are just hanging there...i was thinking of just twisting them together and putting electrical tape stuff on them.....would it work fine...
I need to connect the air box, I DOUBT my car can pass a emmissions with the strong stench of gas!
thank you!

first of all, You have very little to gain disconnecting the airpump. It really does not consume much power. It does inject fresh air into the exhaust to help with emissions. When mine was disconnected, it did not affect idle but it sure helps reduce the backfiring when the ACV is hooked up.
